Asset registers, branding and tagging of large format outdoor Advertisements

The Lilongwe city council would like to improve its management of outdoor advertising. The council would like to ensure that there is order in outdoor advertising and also that all advertisement structures have a planning permit. The council would like to have up to date asset registers of all advertisement agents.

In view of this, the Lilongwe city council is calling upon all outdoor advertisement agents to tag all their outdoor advertisement structures by 31st October 2020. The tagging should be on the left hand bottom corner and should have the company name facing oncoming traffic and the planning approval number on the backside. All outdoor advertisement agents should also submit their updated asset registers by the same date of 31st October 2020.

All large format outdoor structures that will not have been tagged and included in the asset registers complete with their approval number shall be deemed illegal by the Lilongwe city council. Such boards shall be removed by the council from 1st November 2020.
