Automated business premises licensing system
As part of its reforms and in a drive to eliminate fraud in business licensing, improve revenue reconciliation and accountability, Lilongwe City Council has now started issuing business licenses from the Automated Revenue
Management Information System (ARMIS). This automated system came into operation on 9 November 2020. Each license has a bar code which will be used to check the authenticity of every business license and be able to flush out fake licenses. The new system also means that clients will be able to get their license within 24 hours of payment.
