JOB PURPOSE
To develop and implement marketing and commercialization strategies that promote Council services, facilities and investment opportunities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, designing and implementing strategies to maximize advertising fees.
- De• Developing and issuing invoices to advertising agencies
- Establishing and maintaining an advertising database
- Liaising with various stakeholders on commercial and advertising programmes
- Coordinating enforcement for defaulters
- Establishing an asset register
- Developing and monitoring advertising revenue targets
- Receiving and processing advertising applications
- Conducting regular inspections of advertising sites
- Preparing reports
- Allocating work and appraising staff
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Drive to meet revenue targets and marketing KPIs
- Commitment to delivering value to customers, investors and the public
- High ethical standards in handling commercial deals and Council assets
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Marketing, Economics, Commerce or Business Administration
- 3 years’ experience in marketing, sales or commercial affairs, preferably in local government or public sector is an added advantage.
